How to create a glossy Pill Icon in Photoshop

If you are a beginner and want to create a pill icon in Photoshop, you are on the right page. Here I will tutorialize you a way of making a pill image via Photoshop.

1. Create a new document

Create a new Photoshop document with the values on this picture.

2. Place and trace
Step number two is to drag and drop the sketch.jpg file into the canvas. Than just resize it with “transformation tool” to fit. Finally hit enter.

As next you have to lock the sketch bitmap layer. For this; select the layer and click on the padlock icon which seems like a lock.

Now select the pen tool and click on Shape Layer in the toolbar.

Click on any edge of sketch and add points to start tracing the image. Automatically Photoshop will create a new shape layer. Follow the sketch lines to fill one part of the pill icon. This is absolutely the main step to get succeed after this tutorial.

Trace

Try to trace the sketch as you see above.

Now close the shape by clicking on the first point. After that  select the Direct Selection Tool (Ctrl+Shift+A) to fix any misplaced points. If you want to move around click twice on points.

Did you create the shape just as you want?
Move on by clicking on the layer and name it as you wish by double clicking on name and click on eye icon to hide it.
