Multi-threaded:

the ORB dedicates one task for the ios with each client or service, the client and service libraries are designed to handle parallel requests or replies.

memory safe:

variable size data types are implemented through controlled types in order to minimize memory allocation. Memory is automatically put in free lists when data are no longer referenced, allowing fast re-allocation and reduced memory fragmentation.
